28th Annual National Conference of Neurosurgery and Neurosurgery International Meeting (SPO)
At the 28th National Congress of Neurosurgery with International Participation and the International Meeting neurosurgeon , organized in collaboration with the Neurosurgical Society Bulgaria and Serbia and held on 19-22 June 2014 , attended by 250 delegates , experts and junior neurosurgeons , nurses and medical school students and nursing .
The annual National Conference is the leading organization that promotes the science of neurosurgery contributing to improved and more efficient provision of services to the neurosurgical patient. The International Meeting with neurosurgeons from Bulgaria and Serbia was conducted with the aim of scientific fraternity of the three countries through the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Parallel to the Conference, on June 20, 2014, and held the 8th Annual Neurosurgery Nurses Meeting, attended by 60 nurses and nursing school students.Was actively donor companies and exhibitors who financially supported the scientific events . Specifically , involved 14 companies in the industry .
The scientific program covered with their presentations 40 Greeks, Bulgarians and Serbs scientists and guest speakers Prof Marc P. Sindou MD, PhD, (Department of Neurosurgery, Neurologique P. Wertheimer, Groupement Hospitalier Est), from France and Mr Adrian Casey, Consultant Neurosurgeon, (Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital), from the United Kingdom. Moreover , presented 48 oral presentations and 108 poster format e-posters.
Subjects included: Newest aspects in surgical technique and treatment of tumors of the nervous system , vascular diseases of the brain, cranio - cerebral injuries , diseases of the spine diseases of the skull base , spasticity and neuropathic pain, trigeminal nerve complications in neurosurgery , developments in diagnostic techniques and neuro - sciences in general.Of special interest was also the keynote of the opening ceremony by Mr. Michael Lychouna, Archaeologist (12iEforeia Byzantine Antiquities), the history of Kavala, with inspired neurosurgery entitled: «An MRI of the historic spine of Kavala; from traumas, fractures and stenoses to a holistic treatment ».
The 28th National Conference of Neurosurgery committed under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and moriodotithike with 21 molecules of Continuing Medical Education of the National Medical Association. The 8th Annual Neurosurgery Nurses Meeting celebrated under the auspices of the Greek Neurosurgical Society and the Union of Nurses from which moriodotithike with 5 units of Continuing Nursing Education.
